MECHS
More than just war robots.
ABOUT MECHS
Mechanical Electronic Combat Hardware is the defining technology of the Iron War. Massive, heavily armed, and piloted through neutral interface technology, mechs dominate the battlefield and shape the strategies of every major power.
01 // SENSOR SUITE
Ballistic-glass plated cameras and multi-spectrum scanners allow the pilot within to perceive the battlefield from safety.
02 // SECONDARY WEAPON HARDPOINTS
Modular mounting system allows weapons to be removed and swapped, facilitating rapid reconfiguration for any combat role. Shown: 2x M522 "Maverick" MLRS, pre-war developer unknown.
03 // PRIMARY WEAPON HARDPOINTS
A direct line to the mech's reactor allows for more powerful weaponry. Shown: Standard PL-33 "Sungun" Plasma Launcher, developed by Savant Systems.
04 // NUCLEAR CORE
A compact radioisotope generator converts nuclear decay into electricity, providing the mech with a long-lasting baseline power supply and feeding its high-demand systems.
05 // FAIL-DEADLY DEGRADATION
Designed to take severe punishment and continue forward, most mechs are functional and dangerous at just 10% of their original armour rating.
06 // ARMOUR PLATING
Layered titanium, ceramic, and graphene composites provide lightweight protection against kinetic impacts, fragmentation, and energy weapons without crippling the mech's mobility.
// THE IRON CHIP
The Interneural Response Optimization Network (IRON) chip functions as a thumbnail-sized neural interface that taps into a pilot's cerebellum, utilizing the human brain's inherent sense of balance to stabilize bipedal mechs in a way that traditional software cannot.
The chip is slotted into a receiver surgically implanted at the nape of the pilot's neck, where it pairs with a command capsule to translate human intent into mechanical motion.
Developed by Axion Industries as part of Project Cold Iron, the microchip has since become the linchpin of modern combat robotics.
However, new research suggests the chip's adaptive learning capabilities offer countless more uses beyond the battlefield.
