// Hello, world!

I’m Brennan Smith, mechanical engineer by trade and storyteller by heart.

Growing up on the Atlantic coast of Canada with a restless imagination and a lifelong passion for science fiction, I decided to channel that inspiration onto the page, and I haven’t looked back since.

My debut sci-fi series, The Iron Empire Saga, begins with Iron Empire and Iron Legacy (now available in paperback and ebook, as well as the collected Iron Omnibus). Today, my stories have reached readers across seven countries.

My stories have also earned accolades in the Writers of the Future competition—including an Honourable Mention for City of Threads and a Silver Honours award for Damocles, placing among the top entries globally. All these past entries are free to read on this website, under Short Stories.

Currently, I'm deep in the works on books three and four of the series, Silver Saint and Silver Ghost, and I can't wait to share what's coming next.
